It depends what you like and what kind of personality and responsibilities you want, cats are more stuck up and more independent but can be very loving where as mostly all dogs are really friendly and warm up to you a lot easier, they are more dependant on you and they want to play constantly but require a lot of attention I have both and it depends on the breed too because different breeds have different personalities. I personally am a reptile guy myself but dogs are just a bit higher on my list nothing against cats though.

Dogs. Dogs are more friendly and if you treat them good, they will be the best company. Personally I dont like cats, it is said that 98% of domestic cats dont fully trust their masters no matter what. And they are very annoying when in heat.

if you want a lazy animal that gives you nothing but love and care when it wants something get a cat. i got two. if you want a smart animal get a dog. dogs make better companions in the long run. you can find a cat that does that too. its upto you in the end. i love dogs but i absolutley love my cats.

neither one is better...they are both great...you'll find something good about one animal then find something better about another, so there's no real "better"
