I have a 3 month old little girl. I wake up about 2-3 times throughout the night to feed her. I just wanted some imput on how often you clean your baby bottles. Do you switch to a new bottle after every feeding? Do you just rinse it out? How often do you boil them? I dont have many friends with babies so I was just curious on what others do...Thanks O:)

The best advice I ever got was to use the bottles with the plastic inserts!! That way you know your child is getting a clean bottle every time and you don't have to worry about germs staying inside the bottle even after washing it

Definitely a new bottle every feeding. When our girls were little we also had about 4-6 bottles made up in the fridge that we would just warm up and then set the bottles aside in the sink with some soapy water. We would rinse them and eventually every night the dishwasher was full of bottles and we run it when we sleep.

The only time that I boiled my bottles was when they were new or when the came out of storage for my 2nd and 3rd daughters. And actually thinking back on it I think that I only sterilized the nipples by boiling them and then everything goes into the dishwasher.

I have found what works best for me is to have the bottles prepared and in the fridge. My son is also 3 months, although he doesn't get up as much during the night. I have four bottles and have them all prepared in the fridge so when I need one all I have to do is warm it up and after it goes in the sink. When I get some free time, or wake up in the morning I wash them with soap and hot water, refill and it goes back in the fridge. I would definitely always wash before feeding not just rinse it out, to many germs can be carried that way. Hope this helps.

I have a three week old daughter - she likes to eat... and often! We make up bottles each night before bed, enough to last 24 hours so I'm never caught short. When we have 5 used bottles, I simply put them in our steam steriliser ($30 from target) and put that in the microwave for 5 minutes. It's a lot less work that boiling water and putting the bottles in. I only use a bottle once, and then put it in the steriliser. If you use them more than once it could make baby sick due to the germs that breed in the bottle. Babies don't have very good immune systems, so it's better to be safe than sorry!

You should use a sterilized bottle for every feeding. Use a dishwasher if you can. Milk and or breat milk spoils very easliy so you don't want to make the baby sick. If you have to buy more bottles and sterilize them during the day so you always have clean ones. Count how many times a day you feed her and go from there. Good Luck.

Well I have like 18 bottles I put 3 by my bed and fix them in bed and sit the dirty one aside after she is done( lots easier on you) I just wash them all in the morning. I think at this time it is ok to rinse them and put them in the dishwasher. I switch to a new bottle every feeding.

0-4 months - I used avent
4-9 months- I used the liner bottles( very handy but can get pricy )
9-present(11.5 months)- I am using no drip bottles

absolutely a sparkling bottle each feeding. at the same time as our ladies were little we also had about 4-6 bottles made up in the refrigerator that we may only warmth up and then set the bottles aside in the sink with some soapy water. we may rinse them and ultimately each evening the dishwasher became finished of bottles and we run it after we sleep. the actually time that I boiled my bottles became at the same time as they were new or at the same time as the got here out of storage for my 2d and third daughters. and fairly questioning back on it i imagine that I actually sterilized the nipples by using boiling them and then each thing is going into the dishwasher.

I have an assembly line going of about 5-6 bottles. I fill them up, then line them up in the fridge, so that when she's ready to eat, all I have to do is heat it up. Once she's done with the bottle, I rinse it out well with hot soapy water and bottle cleaning brush, then hang them upside down to dry on a bottle drying rack. I steralize them once every 2-3 weeks.

I swtich to a new bottle evey feeding. I clean the nipples with soap and water then boil then after each use. I use playtex drop ins so i only have to boil nipples instead of the whole bottle, its much easier.

I wouldn't re-use them, but you do NOT have to boil them!!!! Check with your pediatrician, but mine says that's an antiquated idea and there is no need.
