Rhyme?

I didn't think words in a song have to be intelligible now days, either.

I've been trying to think of a popular song that doesn't rhyme in the bridge and I'm drawing a big blank. The answer is, of course, no, it doesn't have to rhyme, but it does have to follow the general theme of the song.

No. There's so many songs out there (let alone bridges) that I know of that don't rhyme at all so it can't be standard for all bridges. Not to mention I'm a songwriter myself and usually mine never rhyme whether I make them rhyme on purpose or not.

It doesn't matter if they rhyme or not, but sometimes they sound better if they do. But sometimes you just can't think of rhyming words that actually have anything to do with the same thing. I guess its a case of follow your heart and see how it turns out.

no, the song doesn't have to rhyme at all. You can't let any one tell you how to write your song.
