I have two cats, Summer and Ella. Summer is older and my first kitty, but I have never referred to her as Summer. I call her Kitty, Kittypants, KeeKee, Flufferbutt, and Fluffo... but I never call her Summer. She doesn't even respond to Summer, only Kitty... I call Ella by her name and she does respond to it. Have you ever done that?

I also used to have a dog named B.B. (short for Black Beauty) and I called her Beeb.

yes I have a dog named Shadow. But because he is small I call him little bit but that got shorten to bit. I only call him shadow when I need him to do something or he is in trouble. For all of my pets they have many Nick names. I think we all do that.

I call my pets by their nick names more often then their real names. Like my dog he was named Buster when we got him and I don't really like his name, so I call him Bus, or Duster... My cat George is Jorge(the spanish George), Georgie porgie, fat boy ect... My other cat Morimoto is mostly Mori, my son use to call him Money poo-poo, but then he was only 2...

My cat came with the name itty bitty. I started out calling her that, but i have changed to bits n pieces, bitty girl, chubs, baby girl...and lots more. i also have a kitten that i named Elliot, but i call her little one, stinky, monster, gremlin..(she is a feisty and naughty girl...) But yeah, i have had nick names for all the animals i've ever owned, and i rarely called them by their real name.

My dog is Josie and sometimes we call her Joes. We have a cat Ezekiel but call him Zeke, another cat called Molly we call Moll and our 3rd cat named Buddy we call Bud. So we call them close to what their names are.

Yeah I do that. My animals are only referred to by their real names if they are in trouble, the rest of the time they have their nicknames:

Sierra-Weasel
Dakota-Koda or Koda-Boda
Smeagol-Smeagol-weagol or Bubby
Arwen-Princess or Munchkin
