animals have instincts and if someone fed you, played with you, and cleaned up your poop i'm pretty sure you would know they like you and I think you would like tem too.

Well I am always petting, cuddling, and babying my cats. I think they understand it by your body language, but also by instinct. Some people have pets and they don't really care about them... they just have them to say they do. I think those animals can understand the difference between animal lovers and non animal lovers.

You never yell at them no matter how angry you are. But, if they do do something wrong, you should still punish them for it or they will never learn (the punishment should NOT be yelling, hurting, or anything cruel like that)
Treat your pet as you would treat your child.

We show love by feeding them, giving them shelter and treating them well. Animals understand that more than anything.

The way you look at them.
The sound of your voice.
The constant touching and holding.
Giving them food and water.
Protecting them against dangers.
Even fish understand when you do so many things for them that you love them. They do not know the word love, but they know that you enjoy them.

we've had two dogs, a spaniel and a maltese my folks took in that was abused. whenever any of us has been sick they'ave always come right up and sat down as close as they could get. animals are definately able to pick up emotional communication!

By the way you touch them, kind, softly speaking to them, giving them treats, and treat them as you would like others to treat you with love." Be kind my master and I will love you unconditionally forever." Cathy

Because you feed them. They no longer have to hunt for food. They no longer have to work to stay alive.
