I think it is until sixth grade or so. I actually had spelling until 9th grade (and I was in advanced English!) In high school now, the teachers incorporate spelling/ vocabulary together in English class. Too many people nowadays rely too much on "spell check." Although I agree that many people do not bother to hit that check spelling button. I

Over here (the Netherlands) it sure is, and I guess it will stay like that for a long time to come.

Yes, people make spelling-mistakes on here.....and grammar-mistakes as well, as I often do, sorry for that.....but please bear in mind that quite a few of those people may not have English as their first language.

yes, theres like spelling test every week... duh!.. sry, but if anything, the spelling in grade school has gotten even more common...
