Electric and magnetic fields interact, with the relationships represented by Maxwell's equations. A changing magnetic field creates an electric field, which causes a current to flow in the conductor. This is how a standard generator generates electricity. These magnetic 'lines of force' are just ways of visualizing a magnetic field.

The Magnetic force shifts the electrons in the conductor to one side. If this is done in a repetitive motion, you create alternating current. Like a generator does.
