I keep seeing these green boxes on the side of the road. Does anyone know what they are?

They have vents in them, their metal and they always seem to be by light poles.

They are power transformers for buried electrical cables. They increase the amperage of the electricity so it can be used for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

They are power sub panels... They are what supply the power to the homes nearest them...
