My physician stated that douching is not good for women because it cleans out the bad bacteria as well as the good. She stated that we need the good to help clean out the bad and to keep the area moist. If this is true, then what are women suppose to use on those days when you feel as though you aren't clean enough?

If you can avoid douching....avoid it. It can cause worse problems than not feeling clean. It can cause yeast infections and overall irritation. If you feel you just have to douche...atleast use something natural and unscented.......like water and vinegar

duching really isn't good for u... ur doc is right... if ur feeling unclean us warm water and a non scented soap to wash down there but make sure u rinse well so the soap doesn't cause irritation though if u really want to douch when u aren't feeling clean don't get a scented douche get the vinegar and water kind it's less likely to kill the good bacteria

Douching is not necessary and it does wipe out the good bacteria which upsets the normal pH which is our first line of defense against infections. On days you feel you need "more" wash more frequently or carry with you, those Summer's Eve or Always feminine wipes.

Well, personally, i dont douche, but they wouldnt sell the product if it wasnt safe.

You shouldnt douche OFTEN, but it is OK to do every once in awhile...like once a month. If you notice, the smell that you might have or unfreshness that you might feel is probably coming from around the outside of your vagina, not way up there.

To freshen up, i like to wet a papertowel or washcloth and wipe that area. I find that those towelettes they sell make me feel no-so-fresh...perfumed! They make an even funkier oder...plain old water on a washcloth makes you feel like you ust got out of the shower.

I know women who douche every month after each of their cycles, but I don't do it because my doctor told me that a woman has her cycle to get the bad things out. So, there is no reason to have to douch unless you are having some smelly issues down there.

Your doctor is right. And if you feel you must douche, use either plain warm water or a water and vinegar solution (1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 quart of warm water)

i would take a spray bottle and fill it with water and squirt it on your area....and then take some of those wipes from always and use them.....they leave a clean smell and the water cleans you too
