You have every legal right to refuse to participate in vivisection or animal testing.

You might get zero credit for that course which could adversely affect your grade or if you have a sympathetic professor you could do something else to make up the grade.

Some medical schools will let you grow bacteria and experiment on the cultured petri dish (I'm dead serious).

Good luck. Glad to hear you wouldn't compromise your ethics...not a lot of people out there would stick to it if it would affect them.

I think it's acceptable if the costs outweigh the benefits. Sometimes it's necessary to use animal testing in order to test if the product is suitable for humans and if it's sucessful, millions of lives could be saved. Put it this way, I would totally accept the experimental deaths on a few mice if it lead to a drug that killed cancer cells. In the western world animal testing is much more humane anyway so I don't see a problem with it. Hope this helps :)

Not sure what you are asking here...but I will try to answer it.

If participating in animal testing is part of the curriculum at a medical school...which I don't know any that require that...then you have to participate in it to graduate, or take no credit on that part of the course.

You do, however, have to take part in a human dissection as part of your anatomy and physiology course work.

What are your intentions in going to medical school?
