I made a page with notepad on my computer and now what do I do to make it viewable by other people and have a domain name (I think thats what it's called)? And is it free to make one, too?

To start off go to geocities.com. They'll give you free web space, 5MB, with the agreement that they could put advertisement on your site. And you domain name will always start out as www.geocities.com then you add a / then your desired name. If you want your own web site without ads, they go to Yahoo!, buy a web address, first check out to see if it's available, buy web space, then build your web page. To make a web page in notepad, you need to use HTML, hypertext markup language. At geocities and yahoo, nevertheless, they have simple web building tools everyone could use.

To make your page viewable by other people, you have to upload your page to a server through FTP ( File Transfer Protocol). You need to get a Web Hosting company and they will teach you how to upload your page, it is very easy. You can get free web hosting service or pay for it.
You have to Buy a domain name. You can buy a domain name through Yahoo 'Small Business' site at Yahoo main page or any other domain registration company.
You can search your desire domain name by going to godaddy dot com or Yahoo 'domain name' at Yahoo 'Small Business'.
I just constructed my own website few days ago by using microsoft frontpage, it is user friendly especially for those who are not familiar with computer programming language.

You need to buy a domain name and hosting to have your site viewable. Google for 'buy a domian name'.
Also, did you write your web page with HTML? Google 'html tutorial'.
