well it depends on the part you wanna visit. If you¨ll go to south of europe ( spain, italy, portugal, greece..) the best seasons are spring and fall cause in most of that area its really sunny and hot i( though if you look for beaches and etctera... , its a good time )
If on the contrary, you wanna see north and medium area of europe ( norway, germany, uk, france...) is better you´ll go in "hot seasons" cause the more next to polo the more amazing cold.

I would say late spring/ early summer. Or late summer/ early fall. Summer is nice too, but you'd better stay on the beach or in the shade a lot, it's nice but hot to travel and walk around a lot.
