political science classes at universities cannot help but inculcate students with liberal democratic ideology. so is it impossible to present value free political philosophy? or is it really an exercise in political propaganda?

The effect our teachers have on our opinions varies with age. Early in life our parents are our largest influence, as we grow toward our independence, naturally the influence of others grows.

The problem isn't that a political science teacher has leftward slanting views. It's that seemingly EVERY teacher does. If you only hear one side of the story, and you hear it over and over and over.... It's bound to have an effect.

Apparently, they don't have much of an influence over our grammar...

But having a debate in political science class is different from making students do a political paper in English class. I have heard of teachers giving students papers on "Why the war is bad", or "how can humans end global warming".

I think THAT borders on propaganda, when people are forced into writing political papers in a non-political class.

its not just at the university level. I work in an elementary school and i see the teachers indoctrining hate for particular philosophy, to the point where one teacher, in front of the entire class, reprimanded a student VERY loudly that if he didnt change his method of thinking, HE MIGHT VOTE FOR THE WRONG PERSON!!! (emphasis on teachers tone and diction)

The child was going to vote in a mock election for Pres Bush. The schoolwide tally was 98% Kerry 2% Bush. Now THAT is a skewed election.

Thats public school indoctrination at work.

At the college level they shouldn't have to present a fair teaching of the subject. They are to teach the facts of both sides but they can (and do) color it with their own bias and opinions. However, college students are adults and should be able to make their own decisions in the matter.

Mostly propaganda because it relates directly to their funding for classes at the Public Universities. Not so at Private Universities. They want to get them before they can take in and process both sides.

Ours impacts no more advantageous than their does. in truth i ought to assert that international locations with dictators like Hitler and Saddam have had a huge impact usually human race in a unmarried way or yet another. that is my wish that the yankee human beings opt for a president with integrity. Europeans and center Easterns can not opt for our president no more advantageous than we may be able to opt for theirs. to inform you fact i ought to care a lot less about who any international locations chief is as long as he's not a terrorist or dictator. of route maximum persons opt for peace, yet individuals can not vote for someone only because the French or the English like him.. that must be stupid. we've a more advantageous suited record of choosing leaders than Europeans do. SO the answer for your genuine question isn't any I gained't vote for Obama only because he took quite pictures with the Europeans..

It's propaganda. If it is taught properly, the student can make up
his own mind.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!!

They shouldn't have any influence, they should present all sides fairly.
