The show is nothing but a money making cash cow. It pays next to nothing for cast. The results are then given record contracts that are guaranteed to make money for the producers and no one will ever remember these guys. Remember, Neil Yound, Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett, or Sarah McGaughlin would have never won this idiot contest.

i'm not saying they aren't talented. they can sing and can look good. but it takes more to be a star

I agree. I only watch the episodes where the worst singers are shown. So far of the winners, the ones to win first place, only Kelly whatshername, seems to have made a success. And I don't say that cause I only listen to that kind of music, I listen to all kinds, and haven't heard ANY of the others to get contracts.

Kelly Clarkson is definetly a star.

She won a grammy I believer.

And she makes an assload of money.

I don't like her music, and she's not really a star to me but in general....
