Oooh, I don't think it's okay at all! Kittens moreso than cats are very playful and spontaneous. I was just holding my friend's little kitten the other day and out of the blue it just reached up and hooked its claw in my forehead! The kitten/cat might not be having malicious feelings towards the baby, but it's just a risk I wouldn't take with my child, because cats have claws, and those claws tend to hook things, and usually skin at some point or another.

In no way should that be done and Ive owned four for over 14 years, cats although are the coolest, can suffocate a baby,in certain scenarios,in a crib, while the toddlers asleep on a bed, etc.
Cats have an instict to seek warmth, then they'll lay down next to the source,as far as cats and babys,i would never leave either unsupervised together

I am an adult and I have a cat that is really a kitten still and it likes to wrap is arms around my head when I lay down and chew on my hair...a baby with a fontanel? No way would I let a cat do that even if it is my cat! Their claws are too sharp! Belive me I have the claw marks all over to prove it too!

No! It is absolutely unacceptable to let cats pounce/play on babies!!! Not only because of the scratching issue but because cats have large amounts of fecal matter under their claws. The bacterias under their claws can cause serious illness to children especially infants.

My youngest daughter has continuously loved a blanket next to face at the same time as i'd rock her to placed her to sleep. From about the time she became 8 months previous, i'd placed her in her crib after she fell asleep with the blanket on her cheek. a couple of minutes later, when I knew she settled in, i'd take it out. She is now a 365 days previous, and that i have only began to enable her sleep with a mild receiving blanket. I examine on her some circumstances in the course of the evening only to make constructive she wouldn't have it on her face. (she commonly only cuddles with it, or tosses it aside on the different aspect of the crib, (and to whisper to her that i appreciate her. :)

ohhhh yuck!! no, it's not okay...cat scratch fever is a real threat to humans, and so is chlamydia. and what about toxoplasma, flea bites, etc?? gawd. any animal who steps in fecal matter, should not be anywhere near a baby's face. this is just common sense, isn't it?? did you not just want to smack that mom upside her head when you saw that? ewwwwwwww.
