My baby is 7 months..she'll be 8 months day after christmas...she's pulling herself up in the crib and standing up in it...i was reading something that said when the baby starts standing in the crib you should take out the bumper pads...Should I take it out or should i wait? When did you take it out of your baby's crib?

Thanks

Most baby books today say not to use them at all. however, since yourbaby is capable of pulling them off herself, you may as well remove them. thereis moredanger of her swallowing a tie and choking on it than danger ofher hurting herself on the bars.

Exactly what you said -- once they start to pull themselves up, the bumper pads can be used as a step to climb and potentially fall out of the crib. So take them out for sure. Also, be sure you have the crib lowered to the lowest level now. Now the fun begins! :)

My daughter is a year old and defentally can pull herself up and she still has her bumper pad.I don't plan to take it out.She does not try to stand on it or whatever and the main reason I leave it in is cause she is a crazy sleeper and ends up with her arms or legs in between the bars of the crib.

Yes take it out !a mother of 2 listen to me she could fall out of the crib! when she starts to climb out or falling out around 12 mnths old is when you should go to a toddler bed

Never did with either child. My oldest is five and he had his bumper pad it until he switched to a reg bed at 2 yrs. My daughter is now 2 and I'm fixing to switch her to a reg bed after Christmas and she still has hers.

Which are you more concerned with - her rolling over and bumping her head or pulling up and falling over the railing?
