Because life is a bastard sometimes

I have seen racism exist in places for a couple reasons. I have seen it come from people in a logical way in that someone might be have racist tendencies to hispanic people around were I live because they are not homeowners and therefore not property tax payers but they have many children that they send to school which is funded by property tax. It is also true that those children often times need extra help since they don't know english well, so they struggle, and this requires extra funding.

I am not saying this is right. Yet it is there. The other form of racism I have found has been that people often times are just not subject to other cultures, so they don't understand them. It is very common for people not to like things that they do not understand.

There has always been racism. People have a basic fear and/or dislike for those different from them. The only cure for this seems to be understanding that is only gotten by trying to learn about the people you fear. That may never happen. All you need to see is the different religions that believe that anyone who doesn't share their beliefs is evil or something lesser in the eyes of God. Racism, or any other form of bigotry is the best argument that there is against humans being an intelligent life form. Until we get past our ignorant bigotries, I vote the Dolphins to be the smartest.

Sometimes it's simple ignorance: not being around many people of that race, and having some fear of the unfamiliar. Or being influenced by people who say only negative things about that race.

Sometimes it's because the person has had bad experiences dealing with one or more people of that race, and can't bring themselves to realize that they are not "all that way".

Sometimes racists are unhappy people who, needing a scapegoat, blame people of another race for their lot in life. This is very powerful, and sometimes people call themselves "activists" when they are really just racists.

Having said all that, I think there is a certain amount of racism everywhere. We have to be adult enough to politely disagree with each other at times over our cultural differences without hating each other or assuming anyone of any race necessarily matches any stereotype.

It's easy !
It's a part of xenophobia (Envy, Fear against anyone who does not belong to your people).
It's inbuilt. Anyone will feel this feeling anywhere. It's an instinct you cannot work against. This instict goes manifest in the first year of your life. If you see in this time all different kinds of people all the time, xenophobia will be less than if you never see anyone except your family.
If you grow up, you are suspiscious against anything you do not know, even this is inbuilt.
Anything you fear, you hate! This is even automatically.
This is a vicious circle, noone ever has been able to break it. Even Mahatma Gandhi could not do it.

because people are hateful. they cant accept people and for some reason think different is bad. racism should've died a long time ago when people realized that those who are different are not really different at all. you'd think when we got smarter we'd realize how dumb racism is...and yet we dont. why is mankind so stupid?

That is what I am wondering!!! I can't believe that we still live in the damn stone age, even though this is the 21st century. What is the matter with the world? What is the matter with people? We are not as "humane" as we humans should be..

Some people are just ignorant, and need to pick on others to feel good about themselves! I wish we could wake up, and racism didn't exist, but it does! Just Ignore it!

This ignorance is passed from person to person, usualy in families. The parents are rasict, therefore the children will sometimes learn this from their parents. It is a sad fact, that may never go away in our world.

Because my dear, racism is built into the human psyche. Everyone, including you and me is racist to some point.

Because there are idiots all around us. Ignorance is everywhere. Many feel they have a right to be ignorant. Pathetic.
