I got accepted to the University of Texas Austin as a freshman applicant and this is what they wrote on my acceptance letter. On the applytexas form I filled out online, I only put pre-pharmacy as a major. Can someone who goes to this school or knows about this help me out and give me some advice.

Pre-Pharmacy is not a degree major at the university level. It is a course of study leading to completion of Pharmacy School enrollment prerequisites.

If you are planning to enter a PharmD program, I would suggest a major in Biology or Chemistry, as those closely resemble the Pre-Pharm course requirements.

You can't get a degree in prePharmacy like preMed. It is more of an advising track. It's a list of courses you should take before applying to pharmacy school. In the eyes of the school, you have no declared major.

I believe it means you can't get your prescriptions refilled there anymore. I would be a little concerned. Usually this type of thing happens when they catch you forging a prescription, shopping for doctors for a certain medication, etc. I would e-mail them and ask them WHY you have been blacklisted. You have the right to know.

It probably means that you will have to officially declare your major at a later time.
