I'm sure the list above is very impressive yet not very helpful.
Only use limewire if downloading a single you need the rest is c**p.
Start using a bit-torrent program off the list above, for me the only good ones are Bitcomet 0.70 version and Azureus latest version. Both do the same job but Azureus is a bit more flash with its plug-ins plus it's Java based.Personally I prefer Bitcomet but use both.Go to bitcomet homepage and download version 0.70,once installed browse torrent sites, there are hundreds but a few of the best are Demonoid.com - Mininova.org - Torrentbox.com.
If you have any probs pm me.Also go to bitcomet forum where you will learn a great deal more than on yahoo.Good luck......
Forget about bearshare, morpheus and limewire.Like I said these are only of any use for downloading singles.

yes... and no...

First I will explain why not...
Limewire is a program that taps into the "gnutella network". See, before this network (for example napster) all of the "searches" and "responces" went through a central point (or server). What is different about gnutella network is that there is no central location, and that when one does a search, they are getting responces from the individual users rather then from a centralized point. This is good because the reason napster "could" and was shut down is because if you take out this main server then it all comes crumbleing down.

So... there are three time honored methods to download files from a "peer-to-peer network". Gnutella, FTP, or Torrent.

Now... with that said...

since limewire is not a network... i am guessing that you really mean to ask is...

"does anyone know a peer-to-peer PROGRAM other than limewire"

Try Bittorrent. Download the client at www.bittorrent.com

---
BitTorrent is the name of a peer-to-peer (P2P) file distribution protocol, and of a free software implementation of that protocol. The protocol was originally designed and created by programmer Bram Cohen, and is now maintained by BitTorrent, Inc.. BitTorrent is designed to distribute large amounts of data widely without incurring the corresponding consumption in costly server and bandwidth resources. CableLabs, the research organization of the North American cable industry, believes that BitTorrent represents 55% of the upstream traffic on the cable company's access network.[1] CacheLogic puts that number at roughly 35% of all traffic on the Internet,[2] although there are dissenting opinions on the methodology to measure P2P traffic on the Internet.[3]

The original BitTorrent client was written in Python. Its source code, as of version 4.0, has been released under the BitTorrent Open Source License, which is a modified version of the Jabber Open Source License. There are numerous compatible clients, written in a variety of programming languages, and running on a variety of computing platforms.

utorrent is a bittorrent customer application. it is going to pull slices of documents off desktops which additionally are working a torrent customer and have marketed that to a tracker. it could no longer get at different networks that have not have been given any direction to the internet, and it won't be in a position to get documents which at the instant are not marketed, or from desktops no longer working a torrent prog. a digital inner maximum community is quite diverse.
