and it shut off. for about a year, it wont turn on. any answers?

ihatephil, I dont remember saying it was our only tv.

she must have really jammed that screwdriver in hard, it sounds like she broke the connection off the back of the inlet jack, take back of tv off and check the wire on the jacks, also many tv's have a surge fuse check to see if that is blown,also check your power cord connection on the inside of the tv. they also can come loose.

Take it apart and poke around. Maybe you'll find a loose wire or something. Put it on your shop bench or a big table for a couple weeks and mess with it. It could be the On/ Off switch got jammed with the screwdriver.
