We're arriving in Ft. Lauderdale at 1:00 pm and were wondering, should we rush up the 3 hours to Disney to start our vacation there? Or should we chill in Lauderdale and avoid line-ups?? Is there a chance we'll be shut out of a park???

there is chance you will be shut out especially Magic Kingdom (MK near 100% chance they have special firework shows and parades that day) The others you are pretty good getting into but be forewarned most of the night activities require an extra admission ticket not included with your pass to get in. You would be better off to chill in Ft Lauderdale. I think they have some nice things going on down there in Ft Lauderdale as well.

We have come and gone from the parks on previous new year's eve visits. I would say its worth a try- but be there in the evening. Epcot is good- that is where we have been and they do two fireworks shows- one at about seven and 11:40.

Its worth a shot-
