Is there a lot of work between taking the nintendo out of the box and getting it to play? I'm thinking of Christmas morning, there will be high excitement and the pressure will be on to get it together asap! Roughly how long will it take me to organise it? Is there anything to charge or any unexpected surprises? Do I need a phone connection?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I do believe when i set up my wii on opening day, it took me about 30 minutes. This was the time it took with a full set up and hiding all the wire. If u don't organize it it should only take 15 minutes. The sensor bar is one thing that needs to go on top or under the TV screen. You may want to clear some space for it before x-mas. its about a foot long. As far as the Internet goes, if u have Wi-Fi you don't need cable. If you don't want to use the store or play on-line you don't need the phone connection either. However, if u do, then you do need it. If you do so there are some updates Nintendo wants to give you that will take about 10 minutes to download.

Just plug in the electricity, plug it into your tv, put in a game and put the batteries into your controler. That's all that is needed to play your new Wii. To download old NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Turbographics 16 games you need a wireless internet connection. You may need a computer expert to help you set that part up.

Hi,

I don't want to spoil your Christmas but Nintendo have issued a recall for the straps.

Better to check now.
