I'd say Zeppelin for their wider musical range and ingenuity.
To give you an idea of the lasting influence of Led Zeppelin, all of the members of Godsmack call LZ their favorite band, and the lead singer has credited Zep's "Battle of Evermore" from Led Zeppelin IV (released 35 years ago) as the musical influence for the song "Hollow" on their current album GS IV. Hmmm... is that IV a coincidence?
I do like Ozzy too though; you can make a pretty decent argument for Black Sabbath inventing heavy metal.

Led Zepplin is the undisputed ruler. Any one with a beating heart knows this to be true. Black sabbath a mere one hit wonder, when compared to almighty, Led Zepplin. Be kind.

That should be "AND." They are both awesome bands. LZ has more fantasy to their lyrics and a bluesy sound (at least the early stuff) while Sabbath has more "make you think" lyrics with a driving slow metal sound. Neither one is better, they're just different. That being said, I was more of a Sabbath fan when I was younger.......

Zeppelin: beter musicians. Sabbath: better image & lyrics. But I'll take Zep if I gotta choose.
