I just bought a Ram Cichlid and some Kribensis Cichlid's, how long will it take until they get acclimated to the tank and actually start swimming around more? The ram is just sitting there right now, I floated them in the water for 30 minutes, poured some tank water in their bag, etc..I bought 3 Kribensis Cichlid and only 1 ram, is this normal behavior?

When did you put them in the tank? They should settle down pretty soon.

Your ram, is it a bolivian ram?

Or a german blue ram?http://www.photolocker.net/images/Jchillin/flufframmale.jpg

German blues are tough to master. They need a pH of about 6.5, and they are quite delicate. Also, they are okay by themselves, but ought to be in pair. They'll look nicer in a pair, too, they'll be more colourful.

How are the kribs doing? If the kribs are acting normal, the ram may be in shock or feeling a little sick. Give him some time and make sure your water is clean, and that the water parameters (water hardness, pH, etc) are acceptable. Provide lots of plants.

Was your tank cycled? If it wasnt properly cycled (or established with other fish before), they may be suffering from ammonia shock. If you haven't already, test your water.

This depends on many things including the water chemistry, water temperature, other tank occupants, and tank setup.

The key is to make them feel at home. Give them the hiding spaces they need and make sure that the water chemistry is to their liking.
