should the blue backlight in the disc slot be illuminated all the time or just when its doing something specific?

It shouldn't be on ALL of the time, but if you have it on the internet or somthing and one of your friends messages you it will light up unless you set it specifically, but no it should turn on when u turn the system on or you insert a disk

It doesn't stay on all the time. It only lights up and then turns off when you turn on the Wii.
Would be a lot cooler if the blue light stayed on when the Wii is on, and off when the Wii is off.

I have a wii, and it only lights up when you command it to eject a cd
