OK, this sounds really stupid but the best party music is found on the California Raisins albums...California Raisins sing the hits and Meet the Raisins.
Not because the "Raisins" themselves are great artists, but the song selection is the perfect playlist!
Heard it thru the Grapevine, Mony Mony, Respect, La Bamba, Green Onions, Get a Job, Oom Papa Mau Mau, Signed, sealed Delivered...and other really fun old R&B that gets people drinking and dancing.

One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer - George Therogood
Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks
Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly
those are just a few that i can think of.
