OK, there are a number of factors to consider. The average person's liver can process 1 oz. of hard liquor, 12 oz. beer or 5 oz. wine per hour. If someone drinks 24 beers or 24 oz. hard booze, in one night it will take 24 hours for them to become completely sober. This is just an estimate, body weight, food, metabolism all make a difference. If it effects a persons life, work, family, friends, then there may be a problem. Alcoholics cannot stop themselves, give them a pint...the pint is gone, give them a gallon...the gallon is gone ( or pass out whichever happens first). Does he keep a full-time job...is he reliable, you may be worried for nothing, the first sign of a problem is problems at ones job. Does he drink everyday, or just "go crazy" every so often? If you think you father is an alcoholic, you need to go to Al-a-Non. It is a group for family and friends of alcoholics. There is nothing anyone can do for an alcoholic, you must think only of yourself. At these meetings you will find people like you and find you are not alone....Or you will find out that "these people really have problems" thank goodness my fathers not like that, and you'll know your fathers is OK.

Suit yourself. When everyone else is still at the bar drinking at 2:00am you will be long gone. Chances are you will be passed out somewhere or already gone home. If you like leaving early then I guess thats fine. Maybe you should try doing all your drinking at home before you go to the bar you'd save a ton of money. You will probably be much more intoxicated than everyone else so I guess thats a little worse but drinking is drinking its bad for you either way, if you are worried about it just don't drink its that simple.

Phase 2: start speaking Latin and French
Phase 3: Think I am really sexy and dance around my husband
Phase 4: laugh at almost everything and everyone.
Phase 5: Realize I drank too much and start drinking water.

You get drunk and blank out. Do all kinds of embarrassing horrible things you would normally never ever do. The next morning you wake up puking your guts out wondering what happened and what did you do. So you call all your friends and ask them, they hang up on you. Then you go back to the bathroom and puke some more. The moral of this story is.... Have a good time, but don't over do it.

In all seriousness, I have a brother who's an alcoholic and substance addict. Love your dad for who he is, but if he drinks too much, its highly likely that he will get cancer or something else wrong with his liver or kidneys. If he doesn't suffer from alcohol poisoning first, which will cause him to pass out, possibly vomit in his mouth and suffocate or choke. Sorry that you have to go through that, but you have to take care of yourself sometimes. There are occasions that a parent will listen to their child and how it hurts them to see them that way. And what their life is doing to them. If all else fails, hell take him on Dr. Phil...Doesn't hurt to try if those are your options and you want to see him around longer...

You get drunk.
After that, you throw up.
After that, you pass out.
After that you get alcohol poisoning.
After that you die.
Most likely though, You'll just make a fool of yourself by thinking your a good dancer and that everyone wants to hear you sing.

Several different things can happen - depending on how much you drink.
You can drink too much and get sick - (throw-up)
You can pass out
You can get alcoholic poisoning - and possibly d-i-e!
