The easiest thing to do is to go to the westtell website and consult the documentation for your router. I would reset it to the default/factory settings. Then log into the router using the web interface and take not of the SSID and other settings. Configure your wireless card to match these settings. Once you have connectivity then you can implement the wireless security settings.

Make sure that both the router and wireless card bear the Wi-Fi logo. That way they have been tested for compatibility.

Well You are talking about 2 signals??

You can map the network and find other network with different signals but normally you should connect to your wireless ressources coming from your provider.

You need to describe how many PCs do you have. Which one is connect to the wireless network? Do you have a PC connect as wired into an internet port of your router?

I need more details to troubleshoot your issue.

Resting your wireless router might be a good idea :
If you don't know how there is a small hole , stick
a pen into and hold a few seconds , after that your PC is back to default.

The makes and models of router and access card should make no difference as 802.11 signals are a standard and not specific to a manufacturer.
First make sure that you have the router connected to your internet source correctly. You will either be hooking from your modem to the wireless router or your router may also act as a modem.
Consult the documentation that came with your equipment. You usually access the router set up through its ip address I.E. 192.168.x.x ( yours will be listed in the documentation)You will need to make sure that the wireless is properly enabled. And also preferably enable the security (either wpa or wep unless you want all your neighbors connecting to you instead of your other neighbor who obviously left his/her connection open). You will get a signal and be able to connect to the router weather or not your internet connection is active. Likely you are connecting to an empty signal

easy, go to CompUSA and either buy a westell card or a belkin router, safest route would be a linksys router and card
