I received a DVD in the mail I did not order, with a letter stating that if I didnt want it, I had to repack it in the box it came in and affix the return shipping label and then put it back in the mail. Or I could keep it and pay for it' and I would start receiving more DVD's regularly. MY question is If I didn't order it and I dont send It back
am I obligated to pay for it.

If you did not open the package take it back to post office and tell them return to sender. No cost to you. If you did however open it seal it back up and tell the post office you are returning this item. No one should give you any grief over this. You don't have to keep what you don't want and or order. However if you are in a club of some sort they may try to get you to pay for the DVD, but no postage should not be your problem. You can't keep it or you will have to pay for it. The company would consider you to be stealing it and some of these companies get crack pot idiots that will sue you or botch your credit from buying anything again. Hope this helps.

If this is part of a CLUB, like Columbia house that you signed up for then yes you have to return it.
If you did not sign up for a club "or get 10 DVDs for only $1.00 deal" which is really a come on for a "club". Then, no, not in the US, you are under no legal obligation to pay or return it.

You are under NO legal obligation to pay for or return unordered merchandise. Legally it is a gift and need not be returned.

The only way that the shipper can get it back is to collect it from you directly at YOUR convenience. Providing a return label and asking you to put it in the mail is NOT sufficient. You do NOT have to agree to return it.

If they should send you a bill, mark it "unordered merchandise, payment refused" and return it.

it must be Columbia House----call and decline the DVD but ask if you can keep it -- if not have then ask them to cancel you from there mailing list. Ship it back just tape it up put it in the mailbox --never worry about it again.

From my understanding if some company sends you something you didn't (really) order you don't have to send it back. Or pay for it.

I don't think you have to send it back or pay for it.
