I think the entire league will light this guy up. Since his fastball isn't really a fastball. 88-93 MPH, (not overwhelming), and it doesn't move, I think all the left handed hitters will have a field day hitting this triple A pitcher. Too bad Boston, you goofed again!!! Can you say "$102M dollar mistake"???????

They all will the second time around.....he is used to pitching every 5 day....the American pace will get to him later in the season.....and then maybe not....we will find out but that would be my guess.....if I am wrong then I will say he was worth all of the money....even though I am a Yankee fan......GO YANKEES!!! STINKIN RED SOX!!!

It'll prolly be a tie between Jeter,Damon, and Cano. I say they all get to hit 14 hrs each of Dice-k that of course pending that he at least gets 4 starts against the Yanks. It would be stretching it if i said it could be done in 3.

not only the Yankees, but most of the league..he doesnt throw overwhelmingly fast, and his moving pitches arent hard to hit..they're like any other moving pitch in the league..they wasted too much money on talent that can be found in other players..and it's only based on talent..he hasnt thrown a pitch yet! For all we know he'll whind up like Irabu!

Hideki Matsui. It just seems fitting that a Japanese slugger on a rival team hits a mammoth home run off a Japanese pitching sensation.

Sounds like sour grapes.

If the guy wasn't good, why did the Yankees post a bid in the first place?

I bet you won't be asking this question if the Yankees won the bid and got to sign him.

i agree with ranorwood, matsui has probably seen him before and will prolly be the Matsuzaka killer. But he will hit like 10 against him and everyone will have like 5 or 6 lol, thats far fetched but would be nice as hell.
