These days smoking is considered an abusive thing anywhere anytime.

i'm a smoker. I smoke in basic terms while exterior and make a component to stepping a cushty distance faraway from others (in spite of the reality that I did smoke in pubs in the past the ban, I admit). As a smoker I can only say it depends where you are! I smoke at home or in the car and sometimes dont think about others but usually try to be considerate and dont smoke as much in company.
I dont know what the truth really is about passive smoking. I can put myself at risk not others!

If it's your house, it's a little rude to your guests but they should expect that sort of thing if they are at your house. If you are anywhere else, it's pretty rude and you should step outside or go in another room if possible. I've found that most people don't care but I try to respect the few who do. It's not a big deal for me to wait or go outside.

It is rude to smoke in front of non smokers. I am a non smokers and I don't want that filth in my lungs. People will come to learn that Society in general made a fortune in Cigarette sales and the people died as a result ans they still smoke...we live amongst stupid people and that is fact.
People say "You only live once so the hell with it."
This is very true, your only going to live physically once, but you will live spiritually forever...so why rush it,. Stick around to see if Sandiego wins the Super Bowl ...lol

D'ya know I'm getting sick of this argumment about smoking! If you want to smoke do it, yeah do it in the same room, dosen't matter if its 2 to 1 Just do it & politley say do you mind if I smoke, ofcourse it depends what your'e smoking!!

I would ask, and if they said they minded, I wouldn't smoke in deference to them. I would go outside to smoke.

If both of them started farting, would you consider that bad manners?
If so, then they may consider your smoking in the same way.
BTW, no-one to my knowledge ever died of passive farting.
