Very, very soon! I know you're worn out, but the longer that baby can stay inside you, the healthier it'll be. Your doctor wants that baby to be as strong and as ready to face the world as possible before it comes out.
Just try to relax and get some people to take good care of you for the next little while. Get as much sleep as possible and know that however much longer it takes, it's good for the baby.
Good luck and congratulations!

I was told by my midwife that it could be up to 2 weeks after I lost my mucous plug, but it never was that long with any of my 5 babies.
Your prodromal labor (false labor) is working. Just know that it's definitely doing something, and my guess is your labor will be shorter because of it.
What I would suggest is that you rest up for a couple of days. Take warm baths, soft music, candles, whatever makes you feel peaceful and relaxed. Once labor really kicks in, you will be need your strength.
Then, to get things going, have sex with your husband as often as possible. Even try to have an orgasm yourself. The semen has protiglandins in it, and will help to ripen your cervix. If your body is ready to go into labor (it sounds like it's getting ready), then this will give it the added "kick" that it needs to get things going.
E-mail me at kaland@mac.com and I'll give some more advice. I just realized that this could turn into a fairly long post.
I'm a mother of 5, all were home births, and 2 were water births. Had prodromal labor for 3 days with #3, but then fast birth. I'll tell you more about it if you will e-mail me. kaland@mac.com

At 36 weeks in my final being pregnant I was once 3cm and one hundred% effaced, and I needed to be triggered eight weeks later. There's no option to inform rather. Also, my hard work was once 32 hours so how a ways dilated you're while you stroll in isn't a well indicator of ways lengthy your hard work shall be both, in contrast to a few folks have recounted.

Its hard to tell! I was 50% and 2cm dilated for 3 weeks before I had my son. I also lost my mucous plug 3 weeks before. It could be tomorrow or you could be in it for the long haul. If your contractions are stopping then its most likely not the real thing yet. Just try (I know its hard) to take your mind off of it and eventually it will happen. At least you know you won't be pregnant forever!
