I say that if you've already decided to leave him, have some guts and tell him, not meaning to sound harsh, but I'm sure you'll get a lot of crap either way about it. At least have the common decensy, and respect for someone you are married to not to blindside him with divorce papers.

Is he abusive? Emotionally or physically? If your safety is in jeopardy then don't return. You will have to let him know you are filing for a divorce. If it's not a question of abuse, maybe you should write a script out ahead of time. Psych yourself up to tell him however you can. Have a family member or friend nearby.

If you are poistive then file for divorce and head for the hills. Life is too long to be miserable. He will find out you want a divorce soon enough.

Don't be a donkey if the relationship is not working tell him you want to file a divorce. If your afraid that di it in a public area or near family members. Don't take CRAP from ANYBODY! Call the police if you have to, that is if he tries something horrifically endangering your life. Don't let anybody go crazy in your house!!!!!!

ok if you got kids you need to file first because the first person to file and request the child will retain custody until the divorce is final plus they stand a better chance of getting them..talk to a lawyer first and get some legal advice

Does he have any clue this is coming? Does he know you are unhappy. Have you discussed getting help? You wouldn't be the first person to just disappear, but is it fair? I'd say the better thing to do is move out and see what happens. What is his reaction? What is your reaction? Don't just run to a lawyer which causes people to dig in their heels and become inflexible.

Wow, well everyone has their own way of doing it, it totally depends on the circumstances. As a rule the decent thing to do would be letting him know face-to-face (regardless of whatever "crap" he might give you about it), but it of course completely depends on why you're getting divorced. If it's just because you're tired of him, don't love him anymore, etc... I think you owe it to him to not be a chicken and to tell him first.

This is very ruff but yes you have to tell him but if you think your life is in danger or he will hurt you then yes leave and let the lawyer tell him.No one likes getting divorced that way but it happens all the time .do what you think is right.good luck!!
