OK. I've gotten a couple of smart-*** answers. You know who you are. I spend alot of time with my son, but I am looking for something really cool and different. He already has an iPod, tons of themed Legos, Pokemon and Yugioh stuff (which, by the way, I hate). He has a PS2 and a Game Boy/Cube, so I really don't want to do anymore video games! Frankly, I'd like to get him something that brings out his creativity-- something fun like the Legos-- but something hip and that will keep him interested for a long period of time.

What does he like? Do you spend enough time with him even to ponder this question?

I really don't understand people asking complete strangers on this forum what they should get people they know for xmas.

It's hard to say not knowing your son's interests. I suggest shopping at Toys R'US (if there is one near you) and get him something from the boys toys aisle. My 9 year old cousins are all into Power Rangers and Pokemon. Perhaps you should get him Power Ranger action figures unless he's one of those mature 9 years old. Maybe you should just take him to the mall on Christmas Eve and let him pick out his own gifts. sorry if I didn't not help much. Good luck and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

When my son was that age,I bought him a telescope. We spent many hours out together looking at the stars. We would stop by McDonald's,get some food at the drive through,go out in the country and set it up and have a picnic.Sounds corny I know, but he is 19 now and asked me last summer if we could do that again,so it must have been a good memory for him.
