The question is how do I make them stop. Ask the name of the company, and the name (or ID number) of the person you are speaking to and write it down, then say "thank you, goodbye" and hang up.
Then go to here and report them:
https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx
If it is a "sister" co. you do business with tell them "remove me from your calling list". ( this works better than the do not call list...I get maybe 2 calls per year and I have had the same number for 11 years) If they call again, use the technique above to make a report.
After a few complaints they will be fined.

I am a TM (I hate it but it is a job).
If you signed with the DNC list...it will stop SOME companies, but if you have credit cards, signed up at some websites or filled out those cards that offer you information (they are often attached to cardboard boxes)...this is where your info gets passed thru.
As you may know....there are companies that buy/sell your information, these people make money to drive you insane.
If you have credit cards, contact them and find out how to stop the calls.
We tell ppl if they wish to be removed from our call lists we'll do it, but it takes up to 30 days b4 it's completed. A LIE. I recently called a house that asked to b removed a year ago.
I am in the process of building an anti-telemarketing site to help people like you...email me and I'll send you the link when I am done. (This goes for anyone who sees this and wants info)

I am suing a company right now over this very same thing. I am on the no call list. I report everyone of the calls even recorded ones. I also just got privacy manager that the phone companies offer. Nobody doing a sales pitch wants to go through all that just to try and sell me something and to get through to me. They hang up and I am happy. Report them if they call you. Some states you can report them online with their number and a lot of times their names are blocked but whatever your state can track them down.

Be wary of free prize draws and the like, these often give companies the right to call you for a one in a zillion chance of winning. If it's an overseas number, typically these won't have caller ID, and many phone companies offer a service to block calls with no ID.

Did you sign up under the Federal do not call list or a State do not call list?
The Federal list is better than nothing, but my State's law (Indiana) is far more strict and limiting. I get almost no phone calls now! There are a few exemptions under the state law, but far fewer than under the Federal law. This was one of the best laws passed in the nation.
You should check to see if your state has a do not call list and place yourself on it as well.
PS. My state law says that if I document who called, from what company and I ask to be removed from the call list and they call me again, I can collect $1,500 from them for harassment!

One of the loopholes of the do-not-call law, is that company you are legitimately doing business with can share your info with all of their parent and sister companies.
These calls are probably getting thru the loophole.
