Try spraying it with hairspray. It works, honestly. I don't know how.

If you want the tree to last longer, use glycerin mixed in with your water. It will help with the freshness of the tree. Also, use a diluted citrus such as lemon water, this too will help keep the needles on the tree. The trick is to keep the water full which I didn't always do.

Hairspary does work. The Mythbusters tested it. The theory is that the hairspray holds moisture in. The only proble is it makes the tree even more flammable.

I don't think there is anything.
Just make sure the trunk had a fresh cut and then put it in the water. Keep the holder filled with water.

I don't know if it will work for a Christmas tree, but aspirin in the vase will help cut flowers stay fresh longer.
