I ask because my boyfriend's mother constantly is condescending to me and accuses me of things, that aren't true. She smart though, and always does it away from his presence. I sometimes thinks that he doesn't believe me or something. I just want to know how you all would handle it because I don't feel that my boyfriend is handling the situation very well.
Women, you can answer too if you have suggestions or personal experiences that relate to my question.
Thank you all.

I gave up a group of friends that I had for over fifteen years because they disrespected my wife...I would do the same if any family member ever did so. Shame on your boyfriend's mom for making you feel unworthy even though her son chose you and shame on your boyfriend for not prioritizing your happiness higher than his comfort...that is as disrespectful of you as what his mom is doing. Maybe even more so because he knows you better than she does. Insensitive...

I sometimes have problems with the in laws. Fortunately they are nice people and don't deliberately make me upset, but my husband always takes their side no matter what. His mother is aloud to say whatever she wishes about me but if I say one word out of turn about his family he will stop speaking to me.
Your mother in law is deliberately making you upset though and its not on. I think you should talk to your husband during a quite time and tell him whats going on, hopefully he will understand. Or could you try and talk to your mother in law try and find out what her problem is with you. Always try and keep calm though try and avoid arguments with her of if she accuses you of something try and take it easy but just have a word with you husband.
