there may be lots of things slowing down your pc. But the first thing I would look at the amount of RAM (memory or the MB spec.) If you are running anything less than 512MB then i would suggest upgrading. Crucial.com can help you there. Short of that I would try to clean up the pc. Follow these steps click "start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk clean up" and then click
"start>all programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter".
If that doesn't help then you may have some adware or spyware installed in which case you would want to find a remover tool for each.

Do you defrag every now and then?
If not thats probably a good start, but first do a free online virus scan first at the site below just to be sure its not a virus.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Once the scan is finished and your clear of any viruses do the following- Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defrag, Select C Drive to defrag.
It may take a while if you have never done it before, but it will tidy up your hard drive and things should run alot faster after that :-)

Defrag it. Go to start > My computer > Right click on your main hard drive > Properties > defrag, after that also do error-checking. Computer must be restarted to do error-checking and could take up to a few hours. Also in start > run > type in msconfig and check out which programs are loading at start up there maybe some you don't need such as quicktime and such.

You might need to clean up the junk......!
Hit Start/Run and type in " Cleanmgr" ( without the exclamation marks). and hit enter.
It will then gather all the junk running on your PC and tell you how much disc space ( and time) you can save. You can select by checking the bits you want to remove/keep.....Just click Ok........and away you go!
