There are so many sites dedicated to the death penalty, as well as books, films, and even web pages that allow you to read writings from actual death row inmates. I wrote a paper on the death penalty in college, and it was more a problem of what source not to use than where to look. However, getting started is sometimes the hardest part, so take a look at these sites.

The Death Penalty
The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. It violates the right to life. It is irrevocable and can be inflicted on the innocent. It has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments.
Amnesty International works for an end to executions and the abolition of the death penalty everywhere.
Progress has been dramatic. In 1977 only 16 countries had abolished the death penalty for all crimes. Today the figure stands at 88.

I actually wrote a paper on this a few months ago. Assuming you're American, go to the ACLU, Amnesty International websites. Also google "death penalty info" or "death penalty info, race" which was what I did. I got an A. If you're not American then Amnesty site should still help.
