Ummm when you said a quarter of 6 I thought you meant 1.5 because one quarter of 6 is 1.5.

If you're talking time-wise, a quarter TO 6 is 5:45, a quarter PAST 6 is 6:15...

Quarter till six would be 5:45. I've never really heard anyone say "quarter of six", but 6:15 makes sense.
