Ok I need to know if i fried my video card. I just got it in the mail and I opened it up. I NEVER touched it with my hands (It had a plastic tray on the bottom) and I put it right back in the box. I closed the box and put it in the corner of the table. I then heard a quick, little shock. I dont know where it came from but if I never took it out of the origanal tray could it fry?

I use a grounding strap, but, also, you can usually find a metal frame on the Computer to just lay you arm on and work. I not think it damaged. The sound you heard may have just been the plastic popping. When I been frustrated I have taken Memory Cards and put them in anyway I could regardless of what I touch and they work. I not just rub my feet on the carpet. Most times from my opinion you would not hear a Static pop. It be a quiet kill. ;-)

i really doubt if you fried it.. video cards are a lot more stable then they used to be. still when handling any pc parts make sure you use a grounding strap if your worried about static

this is impossible. try the video card out, if it is. demand a replacement or a refund.
