Due to the sarcastic answers of my last question regarding Taylor Hicks (people trying to imply that I'm outdated) I would like to rephrase my question. His new album is coming out and I'm just curious to know what people think about his chances for success. Underground music lovers tend to frown upon the success of mainstream "bubble gum" pop that's voted on by the American public. As far as an "idol" goes...was the right choice made? Can he remain successful for his art instead of being branded in the world of Idol pop?

Taylor Hicks was obviously a fan favorite.
He is unique & has the talent to succeed.
He is a breathe of fresh air that is needed in today's humdrum music world.
I feel he was the right choice to win American Idol & he DID win American Idol.
Taylor is the "total package".
He could sing the telephone book & sound great doing it!
His fan base is STILL behind him as I had to go to several stores before locating one that still has his new cd in stock.
It dropped Tuesday (12-12-06) & it was Friday before I was lucky enough to find them available so that alone should tell you something!
Yes. Taylor you STILL make us proud!!!!!!!
