We can have a great relationship, supportive friends and family, beautiful homes and nice cars, healthy kids and happy lives with good jobs, but there can still be so much missing......do you think there is a real key to oblivious happiness????? Or do we just be satisfied with what we have? I am totally greatful for what i have but i have days where i'm miserable because something is missing but i don't know what......

I have already realised that life isn't perfect and i'm not one to strive for perfection, there's always going to be something to bring you down, i dunno maybe i expect people to think the same way i do and it's frustrating when they don't.

To want nothing is to truly be happy.

Just love. Not things, not approval. Learn to find it in yourself and pass some on to others. People call it happiness but if you look closely at your happiness you'll see that this feeling is actually a lot like the feeling of love, and can just as well be love.
I don't mean to say it's easy, but you're on the right track (feeling grateful for what you have, and actively looking for a solution). This way, the more difficult it is the more satisfaction you will feel when you overcome it.
You might try thinking more of the people and things that bring out that feeling in you. This is like watering a flower, and will make it grow.

Honey, let me tell you the secret to living a happy life. It all depends on YOU and how you perceive the things around you. If your car gets ruinned you can see this as a bad experience because now you have no car, OR you can see this as an opportunity to get a new car. Aside from material things, we have to appreciate the really important things in life like family, shelter, food, and love. If you are a positive person than I garantee you, you will have a happy life. =)

Yes, it's possible. Being satisfied with what we have IS the key to being truly happy in every aspect of life. It's not easy, though, because the mind is perpetually seeking something more. You might want to try meditation or yoga, which involve practicing contentment. It takes effort, but it's worth it.

Good question, but it has a theological answer.
One who is in true union with God has complete happiness in all things.
I am not talking about merely saying that one is Christian. It is much more than that. It is a mystical transformation of one's being that God effects in those open to it.
The reason is, is that in such union, one loves everything that God sends in His providence - the pleasant, the unpleasant, success, or failure.
One has a complete indifference to what God sends because it is always His providential will, and He always knows best.
With true faith, one knows that even the bad and painful are permitted in one's life because God will bring something good out of it in the end.
The paradox here is that pain and joy can exist at the same time.
There is suffering, but it doesn't matter or truly hurt you, because the suffering has a meaning and a purpose.
It is only meaningless suffering that causes torment in one's life.
Anything less than true union with God means some frustration in one's life.

this is a possible sign of depression.if ur job/family/relationships are all going well, u should not feel anything is missing, because its not.unless u married at 18 and immediately had kids and now feel cheated out of ur youth and freedom.whatever the cause, counseling might help identify the root cause of ur dissatisfaction.

You just have to find the positives in everything and try to focus on those (positive) aspects. As you start to think more positively in one area, then it will influence your thinking into other areas of life and soon you will be thinking positively.

Probably not. But I feel that once you realize that nothing is perfect you will begin to find true happiness.
