Did/do the chinese have their own version of Geisha?

I was curious if the chinese had some kind of Geisha in their culture (concubines in the emperors palace dont count). and is the Geisha a totally dead thing either way? Ive heard theres nothing but fake Geisha left.

True Geisha is a thing of the past since the culture has changed so much and become so Westernized. The modern imitations are really only shows or dating services.
