No, Crocodiles grab their prey and bring it under the water to drown it then they head thrash it to kill it. After that they do what is called a death roll to tear chucks of meat off and eat above the water. They had a second eyelid called a nictating(? spelling) eyelid that protects their eyes from debris. They roll back their eyes to protect them from dangerous flying pieces of wood or bone or other crocs going for a feed on their catch.
