First, stop thinking of "playing" the market, your mindset affects how you view your investments which will determine how successful you are. You need to take investing seriously. Research how to determine what makes up a good company, terms like Return on Equity, Debt/Equity, profit margin, etc, are all things you need to understand in order to be able to successfully identify good companies with any consistency. Learn more about the market and you'll be much more confident when making investments.
