why do people always say all rocks songs are about killing people some songs are about people being suicidle if they didnt write it they would have been cutting themsevels rap annd rock are somewhat thesame like only one thing they both have some stories . i personally do not like rap at all but like some songs have no meaning inn rap its all about bictches and hoes. rock have meaning its about love,death that has happened or them writing about thenselve slike they had a really fuckedup day instead of cutting theselves they get a penn and paper and write

Listen, the *good* smart rap Does have meaning & merit. Just that all the radio & MTV feeds the masses is the violent, mysoginist, bling crap. The good stuff is underground & on college radio.

Okay I Some What Agree With You. But Not ALL Rappers Rap About Bytches N Hoes. I would be careful generalizing all rap into the same catagory. Just like all rock songs don't talk about suicide and murder, the same is for rap. The problem is, alot of the concious rappers who don't talk about shooting people are not in the mainstream, so you never heard of them. Common, The Roots, Heavy D (an old school rapper), etc....the exact opposite of rappers like 50 Cent.
I think people in general need to realize just because bad images of spacific catagories of music does not represent the music as a whole. Do more research and you will see for yourself.

Well, I have never heard about rock songs being about killing themselves. Regardless, you have to listen to the right rap music. Although some do talk about bitches and hoes, some of it is the realest music you will ever here because it tells of what that particular person went thru to get where they are, or how they dealt with the negativity that surrounded them....rock..i dont kno about that because I dont listen to it...l

First of all, who is saying that all rock songs are about killing people? i've never heard that...

and regarding songs about people being suicidal: if someone is suicidal, that is a serious issue. that means that they have seriously considered this as an option, and may or may not carry it through. writing a song has nothing to do with the process. if someone is clinically depressed, a song will not keep them from cutting themself.

yes, rock and rap are similar in that they both share stories. same with country. same with pop. same with classic rock. most songs are stories.

to generalize that rap songs are about bitches and hos is another generalization like the one you mentioned about rock songs are about killing people. stop with the generalizations! all bands are different, songs have different topics, and not all songs of the same genre have the same theme.

so pretty much, what i am telling you is that you're completely wrong in saying that rock music is helping rockers not to cut themselves or be suicidal, and that rap music isn't all about what you think it is.

open up your mind and do the research before you make assumptions!!!!

I love Rock n Roll I don't like Rap it is very negative for me, but that is just my opinion, my kids will listen to some Led Zeppelin or even Pink Floyd before he will ever ever be allowed to listen to Rap, well he will not be allowed if he lives in my house! lol it just is very demeaning to women. sorry!

ever heard a rap song NOT about drugs, sex, money or death? The music material is wider in rock in my opinion. We have lives to write about, they have death, parties and ummm that's about it...
On top of that, not all rock songs have to rhyme like a little kids story book, Rock musicians can actually SING...remember singing rap dudes? or how about chords? Think they even know what a chord is?

I agrre with your opinion. the Rap genre does have those things in it. then again i bet there are some postitve songs, like there are negative songs in rock. but i still like rock.
