They would do the intelligent thing and contact the U.N. first. Then watch us bicker around like animals, and take off for the next solar system.

The last time we were here, we went to Egypt, Mexico and South America and helped get those societies started. We're totally ashamed of what you've done to the planet and to the artifacts we left. And what happened to Atlantis? Its not around any more! When we return, we're going to contact Australia and Canada - they seem to be more progressive and aren't war-like and, they don't ship our downed aircraft off to be studied by the military! See you in 100 years or so.

Why the hell would aliens want to contact us? We're the backwater rednecks out on this piddly spiral arm, nuclear weapons pointed every which way, and amphetamine-fueled mass murderers and child rapists running the world's governments.

I'd guess China. It's heavily populated, is apparently high-tech, has evidence of massive building, has boat-loads of boat-loads of goods leaving its shores and flights full of westerners trekking in to trade.
