I've known him a couple of years, we've only had drinks together. then I moved away nine months ago, we've kept in touch via email.
We met up last week, again just for drinks, then it hit me how much I missed him.

Do I walk away and break contact, mess things up by saying something or just ignore everything and carry on as normal?

Aussies-Online, In theory I agree, but living so far apart and not seeing him that often doesn't allow the time!

Do you think he feels the same way? You have nothing to lose by saying something. Worse case scenario is that he says no, but at least you have tried. It might make things weird initially, but you would both get over it eventually and go back to the way things were. Good luck!

I always come across those stories...

"Should I say something?"

If he feels the same way than you do, there is nothing to say...it will simply happen.
While if you offer yourself to him...he might simply take you up on it for the fun of it...but there won't be any long term future into it.

My advise to you is to get closer to him in a subtle way by becoming more personal with him when you talk to him. You might put your hand on his shoulder...or take his hand in pretending to drag him along.
And see if you get a reaction from him. If he bites...he'll go along with your game and will start acting the same way towards you.

you have to just take a chance and tell him because if you don't you'll always be wondering "what if" !!!!!

it's worth the risk, because if you are truly friends and you tell him but he doesn't like you back then he'll appreciate your honesty and you can both move on as friends.

but if he does like you back then you can give it a go together!!

good luck i hope things work out for you!

whats the problem . You are in contact by e-mail. Tell him how you feel and carry on from there. Is there something you haven't mentioned?

Unless he has mind reading powers I would say something, if it goes pear shaped then at least you live away from him.

suggest he comes to visit you and judge his reaction to see if he might feel the same or see how the visit goes.
