I know of this really sad love story where this guy lost his wife on snowy mountain full of thunderstorms and snow would cover most of the mountain making it impossible to climb it so many times in a year. He stayed at the base of the mountain and kept going up every opportunity to look for her. There are soooo many and I just love a good love story. When I was young I would say it was "Forever Amber" about a young common girl who falls in love with a commander of one of Englands Navy ships (I think it takes place in the eighteenth century). He ignores her, leaving her to strive for wealth and power to win him over. She courts and marries her way to a prominent place and when she is finally free for him, he's married to a common girl. Very intense story.
Today I would have to say "Notebook" a story of love that grows and strengthens throughout the years. If you haven't seen it, do so.
